As I try to process all of today's events unable to sleep, I simply pray. I thank God for the gift my children are, I ask God for forgiveness if I have ever failed as a parent which I know I have many times. I pray with force and authority that God comfort and bring peace, bring healing to these families and to our nation. I don't think there isn't one parent out there that has not felt grief today. We can debate and do the blame game all we want and say this is a gun control issue, no a security issue. Whatever your opinion is that will not change the fact that tomorrow is gone for these precious life's. As a nation we need to come together and pray for these families, pray for our children for there teacher's. It brings so much heartache and tears to my eyes to know that this is real. Discussing it over with my husband I brought up fact that we are so quick to blame God. How can God allow this to happen? I don't have an answer for that. But I know we can't demand things from God if we're not willing to invest in our life's. How can we demand from him if all we are doing as a nation is trying out best to get him out! These are not the principals we we're founded on. I thank God for his promises are still true today and still tomorrow and we can hold on to them and hold him up to him. There is this story about a Shunammite woman who took her promise back to God 2kings 4:8-36 amazing story of faith and hope. When all else fails God doesn't! During this season we celebrate the birth of Christ and with this tragedy makes it hard to find joy let's not forget our JOY and our HOPE is found in Christ Jesus. Emanuel God is with us! I believe as a nation we can put our differences a side and unite in prayer.

Isaiah 41:10, "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you...

Clearance Commentary

Last night NBO started a two week series "Clearance". My husband brought the word last night. If you missed it you can check it out online at www.newbirthorlando.org Next Friday Jun Marcelin will continue it, make plans to be there! There is nothing better than ending a hectic week at Gods house and starting a new one there! Its all about the weekends!
My husband did blow up my spot I do love a good sale who doesn't love getting a $25.00 shirt for only $7 and yes I love the clearance rack we're a family of 5 now. Back when it was just us two the story was much different.  One thing he mention was "Don't let your current position determine your value".  For many this is true God values you so much and your worth so much more than what you think. Who is the only one who knows your value your creator. I think he challenged us to reach people who are unwanted and broken. Gods love and compassion is for all don't over look "the clearance section" those are the people who God is calling us to reach. If your currently on the "clearance rack" step out of that section and into what God is calling to do. Your worth so much more than what you think. Don't let your current position determine your value.

This recipe is one of my favorites, its definitely a hit around here. As soon as fall comes around we start baking around the weekends and the kids just love this one. Has been a part of our thanksgiving tradition for a few years now.

  • 3 1/3 cup all purpose flour
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp nutmeg
  • 2/3 cup water
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 (15 oz) can pumpkin
Mix everything together, add flour gradually at the end.

Pour into 3 greased 9 x5 loaf pans (or substitute 3 mini loafs for one of the large loaf pans).  Bake at 350 for 50 minutes to an hour (less time if using mini loaves).

Hint: I like to dust the pan with cinnamon/sugar mixture after greasing to give the crust extra sweetness. you can add things to make it your own..I love the cinnamon sugar on top.
